The army also incorporates the souls of fallen monsters and Hunters, granting them a second chance at existence under Jin-Woo's command. As the Monarch's power evolves, so does the army, eventually allowing for mass summoning across vast distances and enabling each shadow to individually link directly to Sung Jin-Woo's senses and commands rather than sharing a collective hive mind.

His father, Sung Il-hwan, was presumed dead after vanishing in a dungeon a decade prior but returns as a vessel for one of the Rulers. Although he sacrifices himself during the war against the Monarchs due to power overload, Jin-woo revives him in a new timeline where Il-hwan chooses to live as an ordinary father with his memories erased to avoid burdening his son. The family unit is completed by Jin-ah, his civilian sister, and expands through marriage to include Yoo Jin-ho, who becomes her husband.
